About Kurrenkutten

Kurrenkutten is a rural locality in the Western Australia Wheat Belt region, located about 194 kilometres from Perth in the Corrigin Shire. Lake Kurrenkutten is part of a huge inland drainage system that filled in 1932 to 1933 and was used for swimming, picnicking, and water skiing in 1972 after heavy rains. The Kurrenkutten Reserve included a community hall and cricket pitch laid in 1925, and a golf course operated from 1937 with nine holes, popular during World War Two fuel rationing. Heritage-listed as an historic site representing a community and way of life which no longer exists.
