About Bindi Bindi
Bindi Bindi is a small town in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, about 209 kilometres north of Perth between Moora and Wongan Hills. It began as a siding on the Western Australian Government Railways and was gazetted as a townsite in 1947. The name is of Aboriginal origin, thought to mean a sharp stick used to fasten a coat, and is also translated as the Noongar word for butterfly. Wheat farming is the main industry, with a Cooperative Bulk Handling receival site at the town.
