About Kambalda West

Kambalda West is a town in the Shire of Coolgardie in the Goldfields-Esperance region of Western Australia, located 60 kilometres from Kalgoorlie and 631 kilometres east of Perth. The Kambalda townsite was established in the 1960s for nickel mining, with the first nickel being discovered by prospector George Cowcill in 1964. Kambalda West is adjacent to Kambalda East and together they form the Kambalda township. The town is in the state electorate of Kalgoorlie and the federal Division of O'Connor.
