About Kambalda East

Kambalda East is a town in the Western Australian Goldfields, part of the twin townsite of Kambalda about 57 km south of Kalgoorlie. The modern town was built by Western Mining Corporation as a company town in 1967, on the site of an earlier gold-mining settlement that had been gazetted in 1897. It was known simply as Kambalda until 1969, when further nickel finds led to the establishment of the nearby townsite of Kambalda West.
