About East Bowes

East Bowes is a small rural locality in the Shire of Northampton in the Mid West region of Western Australia, situated approximately 500 kilometres north of Perth in the Murchison goldfields. The area is characterised by pastoral leases, gold mining and remnant mulga and eucalypt woodland on the flat to gently undulating red sandy soils. East Bowes lies within the broader Murchison region, one of Australia's most sparsely populated areas, with the surrounding landscape featuring arid bushland, seasonal waterways and scattered mining camps.
