About Talandji
Talandji is a vast, remote locality in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, situated within the Shire of Ashburton approximately 36 kilometres south of the coastal town of Onslow. The locality takes its name from the Thalanyji Aboriginal people, the traditional custodians of the land in this part of the Pilbara. The surrounding landscape is defined by red earth, spinifex grasslands, and the semi-arid climate typical of north-western Australia, with the mining and pastoral industries that underpin the Pilbara economy the main economic activities.
