About Onslow

Onslow is a coastal town in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, 1,386 kilometres (861 mi) north of Perth, within the Shire of Ashburton. The original town, gazetted in 1885 at the mouth of the Ashburton River and named after the colony's Chief Justice Sir Alexander Onslow, was relocated to its present site at Beadon Point in 1925 after repeated cyclone damage and river silting. The town is served by Onslow Airport and lies about 76 km off the North West Coastal Highway.
