About Mirrabooka (WA)
Mirrabooka is a culturally diverse residential suburb 12 km north of Perth's CBD in the City of Stirling. The name derives from an Aboriginal word for the Southern Cross constellation. Planned in the 1960s as a satellite city for post-war population growth, it was formally gazetted in 1982 and features the Mirrabooka Square Shopping Centre, the Herb Graham Sports Complex and Stirling Leisure Centre.
