About Balga
Balga is a residential suburb on the flat, sandy terrain of the Swan Coastal Plain. Its name derives from the Noongar word for the grass tree (Xanthorrhoea preissii), and the area was developed as a planned post-war housing estate in the 1960s. Located adjacent to the Mirrabooka regional centre, Balga is known for its cultural diversity and extensive network of parks and reserves.
