About Claremont (WA)
Claremont is an affluent western suburb of Perth, about 9 km west of the CBD on the north bank of the Swan River around Freshwater Bay. Known as one of Perth's leafiest suburbs, it is home to the Claremont Showground, host of the annual Perth Royal Show since 1905, and the historic 1862 Freshwater Bay School, now the Claremont Museum. The suburb features tree-lined streets, the Lake Claremont conservation wetland and the Claremont Quarter retail precinct.
