About Lake Clifton
Lake Clifton is a small town in the Peel region of Western Australia, on the east side of the lake of the same name just off the Old Coast Road between Mandurah and Bunbury, at the north end of Yalgorup National Park. The lake holds the largest known community of living thrombolites in the southern hemisphere, rock-like structures built by micro-organisms that resemble the earliest forms of life on Earth, and an observation boardwalk has been built for viewing them.
