About Illowa
Illowa is a rural locality on the Princes Highway in western Victoria, approximately 10 kilometres north-west of Warrnambool. The area sits on the former Yangery estate where Yangery Creek runs through highly fertile volcanic soil derived from nearby Tower Hill, an extinct volcanic cone. Farming subdivisions around Tower Hill began in the early 1850s.
