About Cudgee

Cudgee is a rural village in the Shire of Moyne in south-west Victoria, on the Princes Highway about 15 kilometres north-east of Warrnambool. The dairying settlement grew around Brucknell Creek, where a school opened in 1862, and the arrival of the railway in 1890 improved access to markets. The name is thought to derive from an Aboriginal word for a kangaroo skin.
