About Crossley
Crossley is a rural locality in the Shire of Moyne in western Victoria, about 12 kilometres north-east of Port Fairy, on the fertile volcanic soils of the Tower Hill caldera. Farmers were drawn to the district in the 1850s and 1860s, and a National school opened in 1867 alongside a Catholic school serving the mainly Irish settlers. The heritage St Brigid's precinct reflects the role of Irish settlement in south-west Victoria.
