About Boorcan

Boorcan is a rural locality on the basalt plains of Victoria's Western District, 12 kilometres west of Camperdown on the Princes Highway. The name derives from an Aboriginal word meaning deep water hole, and two crater lakes lie between Boorcan and Camperdown. The area is home to Marida Yallock, a historic pastoral homestead from around 1854 listed on the Register of the National Estate.
