About Yarrawonga (Vic.)

Yarrawonga is a town on the southern bank of the Murray River in Victoria's Shire of Moira, about 264 km northeast of Melbourne. Known primarily for Lake Mulwala, a large reservoir created by the Yarrawonga Weir in 1939 supporting irrigation, fishing, boating and tourism, it has a twin community in Mulwala across the river. The town serves an agricultural region of wheat, grapes, dairy and livestock, and is home to the Yarrawonga-Mulwala Golf Club Resort, Australia's largest public-access golf facility with 45 holes.
