About Lockington

Lockington is a town in the Shire of Campaspe in northern Victoria, about 35 kilometres south-east of Echuca. It grew from the district first known as Pine Grove, an irrigation area converted to orcharding and dairying from the 1910s. A railway arrived in 1915, and in 1921 the town was gazetted, taking its name from Father William Lockington, a prominent Jesuit priest.
