About Telopea Downs
Telopea Downs is a large and sparsely populated rural locality in the far north-west of the West Wimmera Shire of western Victoria, bordering South Australia. It lies on the edge of the Big Desert, which was cleared and converted to grazing and cropping country in the 1950s and 1960s by the AMP project, establishing dozens of farms. The district now runs sheep and cattle and grows grain.
