About Nullawil
Nullawil is a rural town on the Calder Highway in the Southern Mallee of Victoria, about 300 km from Melbourne and 25 km north of Wycheproof in the Shire of Buloke. The name is thought to derive from Aboriginal words meaning killing stick and galah. Mallee farm allotments became available for leasing in 1891, the railway from Wycheproof to Sea Lake reached the town in 1895, and the township was proclaimed in 1898. Its main street features silo art with a galah motif that nods to the name's origin.
