About Morton Plains

Morton Plains is a locality in the Shire of Buloke in north-western Victoria, about 30 km west of Wycheproof. The name dates to the Morton Plains sheep run taken up by William Lockhart Morton in 1846. A post office operated from 1864 until 1931, and today the locality is sparsely settled farming country.
