About Minimay

Minimay is a locality in the Shire of West Wimmera in north-western Victoria, about 25 kilometres from the South Australian border and roughly halfway between Melbourne and Adelaide. Settled by selectors in the early 1880s, it once had a school, store and post office, with the post office opening in 1877. The locality lies in remote mallee country near the Big Desert, where broadacre cropping and sheep grazing are the main land uses.
