About Skye (Vic.)
Skye is a residential locality in the City of Frankston, about 36 kilometres south-east of Melbourne's central business district. It was largely a horticultural farming area until suburban housing arrived from 2005, and a green wedge of farmland and bushland still shields its eastern edge. The name dates from 1964, when the local post office was renamed from Lyndhurst South; the Skye Public Golf Course and the Skye Bombers Football and Netball Club are local landmarks.
