About Bundoora (Vic.)
Bundoora is a suburb about 15 km north-east of Melbourne, spanning the Cities of Banyule, Darebin and Whittlesea, on the traditional country of the Wurundjeri people. It is best known as the home of La Trobe University, established in 1964, whose flagship campus sits beside Bundoora Park, a large public park that includes Mount Cooper, often claimed as the highest point in metropolitan Melbourne. The suburb also holds a long institutional history, with the Bundoora Park Homestead and the former Mont Park and Gresswell psychiatric sites.
