About Northcote

Northcote is an inner-northern suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, about 6 kilometres north-east of the central business district in the City of Darebin. The area was surveyed by Robert Hoddle in 1837, with land sales beginning in 1839, and named after the British statesman Stafford Henry Northcote. High Street is the suburb's main shopping strip, and the Merri Creek forms part of its boundary.
