About Clifton Hill
Clifton Hill is an inner-city suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, about 4 kilometres north-east of the central business district, within the City of Yarra. Its eastern boundary follows the Merri Creek, edged with parkland, and its southern boundary is Alexandra Parade. The area was subdivided for housing from the 1860s and is known for its well-preserved Victorian-era terraces, the Queens Parade shopping strip and heritage-listed landmarks including an 1880s shot tower and the 1888 railway station.
