Merrijig is a rural locality in East Gippsland, Victoria, about 10 km north of Lindenow. It is one of two places of the same name in Victoria, the other being the town near Mount Buller in the Shire of Mansfield. The name is of Aboriginal origin, thought to mean 'good, well done'.
