About Flynns Creek
Flynns Creek is a rural locality in the Latrobe Valley of Victoria, about 6 km south of the Princes Highway. Settled from the 1840s, it is named for early squatter James Manton Flinn, whose holding lay on the boundary of the Loy Yang run, and a township developed there in the early 1870s. A railway station on the Gippsland line, opened in 1884 and known as Flynn, served the district, and a community hall was built in 1920.
