About Towong

Towong is a rural locality on the Murray River in north-east Victoria, close to Corryong within the Shire of Towong. The area is historically noted for cattle grazing and horse breaking in the Upper Murray district, and is home to the historic Towong Turf Club which has hosted thoroughbred horse racing since 1871.
