About Reefton (Vic.)
Reefton is a locality in the Upper Yarra district of the Shire of Yarra Ranges, Victoria, on the Warburton-Woods Point Road. It was one of the goldmining towns of the Upper Yarra goldfields; the Reefton township site retains a gold battery and the remains of sluicing, water races and mine dumps. The Upper Yarra Reservoir, which supplies Melbourne's water, lies within the locality. A post office operated there from 1877 to 1886.
