About Bowmans Forest

Bowmans Forest is a rural locality in north-east Victoria approximately 20 kilometres south-east of Wangaratta, named after William Bowman who established one of the region's earliest pastoral runs there in 1838. The area retains gold rush heritage, the track to the Buckland Gold Field passed through in the 1850s, and today features rolling pastures and scattered bushland near the foothills of Victoria's Alpine region.
