About Abbeyard
Abbeyard is a locality in the north-east of Victoria, in the Alpine district, lying north of the Alpine National Park on the upper reaches of the Buffalo River. The district takes its name from the Abbeyards homestead, built on the river in the late 1870s, whose roof was said to give the building the appearance of an abbey.
