About South Geelong
South Geelong is a suburb of Geelong, Victoria, adjacent to the central business district, with the Barwon River forming its southern border. One of the city's oldest suburbs, it was the site of the first house built in Geelong in 1836 and of Victoria's first woollen mill, opened in 1868. It is the western start of the Bellarine Rail Trail and home to the Godfrey Hirst carpet works.
