About Newtown (Greater Geelong - Vic.)
Newtown is an inner western suburb of Geelong, Victoria, occupying one of the highest points of urban Geelong. It was a separate municipality from 1858 until 1993, and is known for its well-preserved Victorian and Federation-era houses, many of them heritage-listed, including the riverside estate Barwon Grange built in 1856.
