Newcomb is a residential suburb of Geelong, Victoria, Australia, located approximately three kilometres south-east of the Geelong central business district on the Bellarine Peninsula. The suburb was previously known as West Moolap before being renamed in 1956 at the request of the West Moolap Progress Association, honouring Caroline Elizabeth Newcomb (1812-1874), a pioneer pastoralist who, together with her partner Anne Drysdale, established the Boronggoop and Coriyule pastoral runs on the Bellarine Peninsula. The pair were widely known as the "Lady Squatters." Newcomb underwent rapid suburban growth during the 1960s, spurred by the establishment of heavy industry at nearby Point Henry, including the Alcoa aluminium refinery. The suburb features two shopping centres, Newcomb Park with sporting facilities, and the Bellarine Rail Trail passing through the area.
