About Fairhaven
Fairhaven is a coastal town in the Surf Coast Shire of Victoria, about 43 kilometres south-west of Geelong and a short distance from Aireys Inlet. It adjoins Fairhaven Beach, at six kilometres the longest beach along the Great Ocean Road, and is a popular holiday destination and surfing spot served by a surf lifesaving club founded in 1957. The town is also known for the Pole House, a house perched on a concrete column high above the beach, and was badly damaged in the Ash Wednesday bushfires of 1983.
