About Durdidwarrah
Durdidwarrah is a small township in the Golden Plains Shire of Victoria, about 75 kilometres west of Melbourne, near the old gold-mining town of Steiglitz. It takes its name from the Durdidwarrah pastoral run taken up in 1842 by Charles von Stieglitz, whose property covered the later Steiglitz goldfield, and which later became the home of Tasmania's first premier, William Champ.
