About Metcalfe
Metcalfe is a small goldfields town in the Mount Alexander Shire of central Victoria, about 20 kilometres east of Castlemaine. Developed during the 1850s gold rush, the town sits on the Coliban River where it cascades over granite boulders at the Cascades, a popular spot for walks and picnics.
