About Kinypanial
Kinypanial is a rural locality in the Shire of Loddon in north-central Victoria, on the plain west of Boort. It is named for Kinypanial Creek, which links the Loddon River to Lake Boort. Pastoralists first cut a channel between the creek and the river in the 1850s, and the Kinypanial Weir was built across the Loddon in 1883-84 to carry a permanent water supply to the lake.
