About Epsom (Vic.)
Epsom is a northern suburb of Bendigo in central Victoria, Australia, located 7 km from the Bendigo CBD at the junction of Bendigo and Piccaninny Creeks. Named after Epsom Downs in Surrey, England, it is near the Bendigo racecourse, while the neighbouring suburb of Ascot similarly references English horse racing. Gold was first mined here in the 1850s. Epsom is best known for Bendigo Pottery, established in 1858 and listed on heritage registers, and has a railway station on the Bendigo line rebuilt in 2014.
