About Waubra
Waubra, formerly known as The Springs, is a town on the Sunraysia Highway 33 kilometres (21 mi) north-west of Ballarat in Victoria, split between the Pyrenees Shire, Hepburn Shire and City of Ballarat local government areas. Renamed in 1889 after the Waubra people of the Wathaurong tribe, the town is known for the Waubra Wind Farm, one of the largest wind farms in Australia and the biggest in the Southern Hemisphere when completed.
