About Dunnstown
Dunnstown is a rural village about 12 km east of Ballarat, in the Shire of Moorabool on the flats below Mount Warrenheip. It grew around a distillery established by Robert Dunn in the 1860s, after which the settlement took its name, and was intensively settled by Irish immigrants drawn by the Ballarat goldfields. The distillery's heritage-listed buildings now house a bottled-water factory, and the village church, school and hotel survive.
