About Walls Of Jerusalem
Walls Of Jerusalem is a sparsely populated locality in the Central Highlands of Tasmania, south of the town of Mole Creek and about 144 km north-west of Hobart. Much of the locality lies within the Walls of Jerusalem National Park, an alpine wilderness of glacial lakes, dolerite peaks and pencil pine forests in the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area, with no road access to its interior. The park is named for rock formations thought to resemble the walls of the biblical city, and its features carry names such as Herods Gate, Damascus Gate and the Pool of Bethesda.
