About Derwent Bridge
Derwent Bridge is a small settlement in the Central Highlands of Tasmania, on the Lyell Highway halfway between Hobart and Strahan. Lying close to the southern end of the Overland Track and about 5 km from Lake St Clair, it is a base for walkers and visitors to the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park. Its wilderness hotel is a well-known bushwalkers' stop, and the settlement is home to the Wall in the Wilderness, a huge carved wooden sculpture.
