About Oakdowns
Oakdowns is a residential suburb of Hobart in the City of Clarence, Tasmania, located approximately 20 minutes from the Hobart central business district. Established in the 1990s, most houses have views of Mount Wellington and Ralphs Bay. Oakdowns Park features a rivulet running through it and is suitable for ball games, dog walking and has play equipment. The suburb has no retail stores within its boundaries with shops located on the border between Rokeby and Oakdowns on South Arm Highway. The suburb is connected to Hobart by the intercity cycleway bike trail and Metro Tasmania bus routes 634, 635, X34 and X35. Oakdowns has a median age of 33, one of the younger profiles on Hobart's eastern shore.
