About Tungkillo
Tungkillo is a small town in South Australia about 5 km south of Mount Pleasant, on the Adelaide-Mannum Road 60 km north-east of Adelaide, in the foothills of the Mount Lofty Ranges. The town was settled by Samuel Patten in 1861 under the name South Petherton, after his family's home town in Somerset, and was officially renamed Tungkillo in 1906.
