About Stuart (SA)
Stuart is a sparsely populated locality in the Riverland region of South Australia, located on the banks of the Murray River and crossed by the Goyder Highway. Named after the explorer John McDouall Stuart, the area falls within low-rainfall country not reliable for intensive farming. The locality is the site of ElectraNet's North West Bend electricity substation.
