About Paisley
Paisley is a rural locality in the Murray Mallee region of South Australia, across the Murray River from Blanchetown. It was formally named in 2000 for the Hundred of Paisley, which was itself named in 1861 by Governor MacDonnell for his private secretary, J. G. Paisley. The Sturt Highway crosses the locality at the eastern end of the Blanchetown Bridge over the Murray, and the town's Advent Lutheran Church stands within Paisley, just north of the bridge.
