About Parakylia

Parakylia is a locality in outback South Australia, gazetted in 2013 over the extent of the former Parakylia Station, a pastoral lease that once ran sheep and now operates as a cattle station about 52 kilometres west of Roxby Downs. The name derives from the Aboriginal word for the succulent Calandrinia plants of the area, and the country is open tableland vegetated with saltbush, mulga and myall.
