About Nurom

Nurom is a rural locality in the Barossa to Yorke to Mid North region of South Australia, located about 185 kilometres from Adelaide in the Port Pirie Regional local government area. The area is on traditional lands of the Ngadjuri people and opened for farming under the Strangways Act of 1869 which transformed pastoral runs into wheat farms. Nurom has a war memorial at the corner of Spencer Highway and The Whim Road maintained by the Broughton Plains Heritage Society.
