About Hendon (SA)
Hendon is a north-western suburb of Adelaide, South Australia, located 9.8 kilometres from the CBD within the City of Charles Sturt. Laid out in 1921 on land formerly owned by aviator Harry Butler, it was the site of Adelaide's first aerodrome and later a World War II munitions factory. Its streets are named after aircraft, reflecting its aviation history.
